I'm currently using BibDesk 1.3.20 (1412)
The file structure for citations being downloaded from EBSCO seems to
have changed.
Below is an example of a citation that will not open correctly. If I
remove the first two lines (DP and DB), the file opens in BibDesk
correctly.

The citations I've downloaded from EBSCO for the last month or so have
extra data at the end of the year field. Some examples:
2007/12//
2008/07//Jul-Sep2008
2003///
That goofs things up with my APA export templates, which typically
require only a single year (or range of years) in that
I have a Bibdesk bibliography file that's getting large - 1.1mb with
315 sources. (Breaking it into smaller files isn't a good option right
now.)
Since I use the file (and attached PDFs) from several locations, I
keep the file (and the auto-filed PDFs) on a WebDAV drive.
That works okay,
Here's a correction for the APA style full citations template
(APACitationTemplate.txt) on the Wiki...
In APA Style, the names of the editors (for inbook references) should
be listed as In A. B. Smith... (not Smith, A. B.)
(See p. 252, #34 in the APA Publication Manual, 5th Edition.)
-Webber, J. R. (1982). (there should be a
comma after J. C. in APA style)
Any workaround for this?
Thanks!

I've no idea. Perhaps it's a problem with

I did not intend for my earlier comments about direction to be critical of
the application or the developers. My intent was to determine what is
appropriate to suggest.
Thank you again for all your work on BibDesk. I think it's a tremendous
tool for schlars!

Thanks to everyone for their responses.
I guess the bigger question is where is BibDesk going? Is the intent to
make it a research tool for IT developers and programmers, or is it
intended to become an application widely used by all scholars/researchers
instead of that other commercial product?
I raised this issue several months ago, but don't think I made myself clear.
A problem I've run into is that if I import a reference with
non-plain-text (Unicode?) character (an en-dash, an em-dash, an open or
closed quote) in the abstract, it will require a save as in a different

See my reply to Adam in a follow-up e-mail.
Thanks again for your reply, Christiaan!

We're certainly not going to automatically delete data, if that's what
you're proposing. That's simply not an option.

Adam,
Thanks for the response.
When I use that template and try to export three records (two journal
articles and a technical report), I get this:

Two things I'd like to do with BibDesk. Any assistance would be
appreciated.
1. Can someone provide an export template for an APA like
bibliography / reference list? Personally, I find APA Style to
