This evening Sandra Eadie and I went to Second Marsh (east of
Oshawa, exit at Harmony Rd) hoping to see the male Eurasian Wigeon
reported yesterday or possibly the Black-headed Gull or Arctic Tern
reported a week ago.
We had no luck with any of these but saw instead a first summer

Hi All!
This afternoon I saw about 30 Black Bellied Plover
less than 1 km east of Port Alma on the Talbot Trail.
They were on the north side of the road in the field
with the corn stubble. Opposite on the south side of
the road, in the water of the construction site of a
new house, was 1 Short b

An adult male Painted Bunting (reported by James Akers)
was coming to a niger seed feeder at 421 Amberwood Road, near Ashton.
It was first seen Monday May 12, then and all day May 13.
Unfortunately, it has not yet been seen today as of this message (2:45pm).

WARBLER, NORTHERN PARULA, NORTEHRN WATERTHRUSH, both CUKOOS, YELLOW THROATED
VIREO, as well as all the regulars. First NORTEHRN SHOVEL
Good morning,
The light NW winds overnight did little to bring in many new migrants to
the Park. Birding was relatively quiet with scattered pockets of activity
throughout. However, diversity of species is still good, with many of the
more unusual species being reported.

Report for May 14, 2003 (Wednesday):
New migrants are limited today due to clear skies and relatively cool
temperatures overnight. Possibly the most migrants are to be found in the
north end of the Park, where many migrants were in full song including Scarlet
Tanager, American Redstart and a P
Greetings Birders,
Yesterday, Stephane Menu, bander in charge for
Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory caught and
banded a second year female Hermit Warbler at
Cabot Head, Bruce Peninsula. The bird was
carefully identified and released. It has not
been reported since. I will post an update if the
Oshawa Second Marsh/ McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve/Darlington Provincial
Park report for evening of May 13.
A drake EURASIAN WIGEON was in the Second Marsh with a group of 6 AMERICAN
WIGEON drakes. The group was foraging between the tern islands just north of
