I saw and photographed a Red-bellied Woodpecker at Hawk Cliff this morning
about 9 am. It was in the woods on the west side of Hawk Cliff Road about
100 feet from the cliff edge and about 30 feet from the gravel road.

Hi Ontbirders,
The Barrow's Goldeneye in Vanier was still there as of 3 p.m. today. It
was in a small flock of Common Goldeneye in between the Tennis Club and
the Cummings Bridge. There were also 5 Hooded Mergansers, 1 Surf Scoter
and 1 Bufflehead.

for the Pine Grosbeaks at the north end of Kenendy Road today without
success. However, when we went on to Willow Beach, just west of Jackson's
Point on the south shore of Lake Simcoe, we found a pure flock of 25

Hi Everyone,
I birded Amherst Island this weekend November 3 and 4. Highlights in the
Owl Woods were 6 Long-eared Owls on Saturday and 2 Barred Owls on Sunday. At
the east end of the island (KFN property) Sunday I was surprised to find a
late Red Knot and Ruddy Turnstone. The lone Brant was

This afternoon, 4 Nov, Debbie Campbell and I went to Milton Road to look for
Sandhill Cranes. Between 2 PM and 2:30 we searched the length of Milton,
including looking south from Smith Road and saw nothing, noting that just a
few days ago the cranes numbered over 70. About 2:30 we s

The female Western Tanager was seen again this morning at the Old Cut
Field Station on Long Point. The bird was frequenting the pines behind
the banding lab for a couple of hours. Most of the time it fed on grapes
high in the treetops but once or twice it dropped to the ground in the
vicinity of t
