Today, 26 January, there was a flock of at least 500 snow buntings in
the field at Beare Road and Steeles Avenue E. Eleanor Beagan and Jean
Iron first told me about this good spot back in December.
Beare Road is east of Reesor Road, it runs south from Steeles Avenue
E, Scarborough.
Yesterday there were several thousand Crows at Mooney's Bay around
5pm. They were on the snow/ice of the Rideau River as well in many
of the trees across at the Moffat Farms Development. I have seen
gatherings like this but not on the surface here.

Today, Saturday January 26th, we birded Wolfe Island. Birds of prey were
still plentiful with 46 Rough-legged Hawks, 3 Red-tailed Hawks, 1 Northern
Harrier, 8 American Kestrels, 6 Snowy Owls and 6 Northern Shirke (centrated
between 8th Line and 4th Line Roads). Near the

This morning, after checking Ozark Pk., I re-located the ten Bohemian
Waxwings in a loose, large flock of Cedar Wawings and American Robins
on the north side of North Lake Rd. opposite #232. This was between
10:00 - 10:45 am.
The flock would periodically swoop down and feed in the junipers in

Mike Van den Tillaart and I had good luck with Snowy Owls today in the
Ravenshoe Road area just southwest of Keswick. We found three different
snowies between 8:30 - 9:30. The first of these was perched conspicuously on a
