get a chance until this morning. Last night, from around 5:45-7:20pm, my wife
and I came across several migrants passing through the Mer Bleue Bog. Near the
traditional Lincoln's sparrow

Today at around 9:30 am there was a juv. plumaged Long-billed Dowitcher present
near the corner of Eagleson Road and Fernbank Road. It was feeding in the
shallow water with a Greater Yellowlegs.

With light NW winds, becoming SE and a falling Barometric pressure, in spite of
good thermals (TUV of 300ft./min.) we expected a poor show at the Cranberry
Marsh platform. Indeed, the total after 4 hours was only 14 migrating raptors
(SEE TABLE BELOW)

Hi everyone
Spent yesterday, October 6th birding various trails in Algonquin Park. Overall
the birding was good with lots of activity along Arrowhon Road and the Wolf
Howl Pond area. Highlights included 2 pairs of Black-backed Woodpecker, 1
Spruce Grouse, 3 Boreal Chickadee and 4 Gray Jay, all
The bird was still there when I left at 4:00 this afternoon. Also present
were Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, a few Pectorals, Least Sandpipers and
many, many Killdeer. Directions below.

Greetings, A group of about 50 sandhill cranes were resting and browsing in a
corn-stubble field
south-east of Powassan on Sunday morning.
This area is about 35km south of North Bay. Take Hwy 11 to the Chiswick Line
(turn east for 6km),
turn right (south) on Boundary Rd. (2km) then left
