A small group went out this morning with Tony Beck. It was raining hard so
birds were hard to find.
We saw a group of 40 sandhill cranes near Navan, at Smith Road and Milton Road

I decided to brave the weather at Amherst Island, and although I ended up
soaked for the first half of the day, the sun broke through and the skies
cleared.I located 2 LONG-EARED OWLS in the large pine plantation. They were
both very shy and didn't allow me to watch them for long. I also came

Well it is too hard to beat Alfred Adamo's Hawk Owl find today so I won't even
try but we did find some other birds besides the ones mentioned in Alfred's
post.
22 Waterfowl species including 2 Red-throated Loons, 5 Common Loons,
Green-winged Teal, Northern Pintails, Northern Shovelers, Americ
Just to add to what Alfred and Norm have all reedy posted this wood be a new
bird for the Tommy Thompson park Checklist ( I now because I spent 3 years
doing the new Checklist ) and I have had 7 emails already over this bird and
the odds its there tomorrow So pleas if you get there early do not

Today I was birding with members of the Royal Ontario Museum along the
waterfornt in Mississauga and Oakville.
About 2:00 p.m., one of our members, John Crawford, discovered a female
Harlequin Duck among a flock of Mallards and Gadwalls, just off shore from Ben
Machr
Alas, our haze and "high" temp. is gone, BUT medium SW winds and falling BP did
not suggest a flight of migrating raptors--this held true throughout a morning
that had 15 observers and as many as 20 visitors.

Hi birders,
Thousands of birds were around the Tip of Point Pelee this morning during a
five hour lake watch by myself, Kevin McLaughlin and Alan Wormington. A
total of eight (8) Cave Swallows were counted.
The first two at 09:05, another four about 11:35 and another two with a very
pale Barn
The white adult Snow Goose that has been lingering in the Jackson's Point area
for the better part of a month was still present today, keeping company
with 100+ Canada Geese beside Mossington Bridge, just east of "The Briars"
resort. Yesterday Keith Dunn also had a Red-necked Grebe at this l

On November 5 35 Sandhill cranes were seen outside of Navan a village within
the boundaries of Ottawa, Ontario. They were seen around 12:30 pm in a
cornfield near the intersection of Smith Road and Milton Road. Initially there
were about six cranes, then groups of two three and four came in over
17 matches
