Another lovely morning at the Brighton
At 142 a long billed curlew flew over Rob Dobos, Barb Charlton and I and
continued down the beach where it landed and then took off landing down the
beach further. Going to look for it now.

ONTBIRDS is
This morning I did a tour of the sod-farm area north of Beeton. The highlight
was a Buff-breasted sandpiper at the Zander Specialty Sod Farm. Also present
were13 Black-bellied Plovers, 1 Semipalmated Plover and 4 Least Sandpipers.
These birds were at the far northern edge of the property.

Unfortunately this bird has not been seen again despite many people
looking for it.
To provide more details of the sighting, at 1:42 pm today Barb, Cheryl
and I had this bird fly right over our heads at Van Wagners Beach flying
east along the Lake Ontario shoreline. We were actually having lunch
There was a dozen Common Nighthawks circulating over Cobourg's Dunegan Park
Sunday evening just prior to sunset. Dunegan Park can be reached by
exiting the 401 at interchange #474, drive south on Division St. to King
St., turn left at King, travel east to D'Arcy St, and turn right. Dugegan
Park
In Presqu'ile Park today, Sunday August 23, the first wave of southbound
shorebirds fed on the algae from Beach 4 to Owen Point, about 120-150 birds
all told, a great improvement on the low numbers so far this fall. Most were
Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers and Sanderlings with a few
