The park was very quiet today with very few migrants. There was,
however, a single Cave Swallow flying west along the shoreline at
about 8:00 AM.
Also of note was a very vocal Evening Grosbeak that was chasing
Robins around.

Sorry for the belated report. I had a calling BOREAL CHICKADEE while doing the
hawk count at the Holiday Beach hawk tower in Essex County, on November 1st.
The bird was heard three times at 2:22 pm and never seen. All the chickadee
flocks were on the move and I was not able to track
Seven species of diurnal raptors totaling 25 individuals were seen today
between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. under clear blue skies and very light north
winds switching to south around 11:00 a.m.
Osprey: 1 (very late)
Bald Eagle: 1 juvenile
Northern Harrier: 1 juvenile
Sharp-shinned Hawk: 5

Spent the day in south Huron, and checked a few spots in north Lambton as well.
1st stop, at dawn, was the Grand Bend lagoons. With the front lagoon frozen
over, I was met by quite an odd site..a cluster of shorebirds standing on
the centre of the ice, with 4 Sandhill Cranes
