This afternoon I found at least one Lincoln's Sparrow along the Humber
River at James Gardens in Etobicoke. While not as conveniently
subway-accessible as the College Park bird, it may still be of
interest to winter listers. The bird was feeding along the partially

Hello Ontbirders,
At Aylmer WMA, Elgin Co. today, I found 2 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, 3 American Robins,
and 4 House Finches. The shrubs here are loaded with berries for them to feed
upon. Also here, I saw a NORTHERN SHRIKE holding a piece of bloody flesh in
its bill. This prompted a stop at the
The fifth Linwood CBC was held today, December 28. 19 hardy observers gave
the circle perhaps the best coverage yet and as a result many species were
recorded in record highs. 51 species were found today (not quite beating the
54 in 2008), plus at least two count week species to-date.

Today our group found a Boreal Chickadee and a male Pine Grosbeak just before
the sign for Taylor Statten Camps, about 2.5 km north of Highway 60 on Arrowhon
Rd. in Algonquin Park. We also saw 4 Blue Jays, 2 Golden Crowned Kinglets and a
Pine Marten at this spot, plus 2 Common Ravens.

few minutes and then was gone. This morning it was back foe a while. The
feeders can be view from the road..

On Monday Dec 27th the 60th Carleton Place CBC took place. There were nearly
40 field observers which was up from the typical 25 to 30.
It was a sunny and cold day with a strong "Winnie the Pooh" north wind.
