Today Dave Purcell, Jeremy Hatt, Matt Timpf and I joined forces watching for
vultures from Queenston Heights looking out over the town of Queenston, NY.
After a period of just over an hour beginning 12:30pm we watched a total of 6
Turkey Vultures and 6 Black Vultures fly painstakingly closer to
February 15, 3.30pm:
The big flock of robins that the Mountain Bluebird is with seems to be
slowly moving west along Long Point Road.
As I came round the sharp corner at #4447, just after the intersection with
the eastern end of Babylon Road, I had my window open and could hear
Bohemian Waxwings. S

from Brian follows:
"Martin: I saw the dove today at 12:30 behind the residence at 1132. About
40 metres from the house half way up a poplar tree. Please post this for me

My last winter list update was at the beginning of February, detailed the 215
bird species that had been recorded in Ontario this winter. In the past 2 weeks
an additional 6 species were added, bring the total up to 221 species. This is

Four juvenile Bald Eagles have been hanging around a field near Paris for
the last few days.
>From Pinehurst Rd/ Spragues Rd which runs between Cambridge and Paris, go
east on Glen Morris Road and then south on West River Road. They have been

The White-winged Dove is very much alive and healthy in North Bay. Saw
it very readily yesterday aft. It is more often, it seems at the residence
of 1557 Pinewood Cresc. , than at a neighbours 1532 but could be
located at one or the other. The main respondent is Peter Mladen - 1557
I found my 1st redwing of the year and a great egret in La Salle along turkey
creek on Feb.13th. Turkey creek runs thru Matchette road in La Salle and is
about 1 mile south of Sprucewood road. Both birds were seen east of Matchette
road from the little bridge that crosses turkey creek.

Several Northern Pintails in waterway just north of Whitby Harbour on East
side of Brock Street between 0900 and 0930 this morning.
Greater White-fronted Geese and Cackling Goose not sighted, all geese off
feeding in surrounding fields.

The male hybrid was present again this morning just east (30 meters?) of the
large yellowish yacht club house. Along with a half dozen Redheads it swam and
dove amongst some open boat docks in the outer harbor marina. Parking in the
marina is free.
