Hello Birders,
The crew at the Tommy Thompson Park Bird Research Station observed a Red
Phalarope this morning between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. from the south side of
peninsula D. Tommy Thompson Park is NOT open to the public during weekdays, but
the bird may be visible from Cherry Beach.

A beautiful, very well marked, adult male, Oregon Junco joined the melee at my
feeders today. This bird matches Sibley's dark adult as shown in his book.
Other birds included 35+ Chipping Sparrows and 2 Fox Sparrows. Also seen were
35+ Siskins at the Niger feeder.
Yesterday a late Eastern
I've never seen such a steady flow of crows before. It was at 8:05 AM,
between Stoufville and Bloomington Rds. I was on Yonge St and watched over
100 crows (and counting!) flying westbound. I had to go to work, but I'm
sure more followed.
The quantity was remarkable (hence, the email)

Present now in some cedars, along the trail that cuts between the two ponds
across from Hutches restaurant. These are the only cedars of any size along the
trail. Photos taken. It was found earlier in the day by Matt and Brenda

This morning at about 8:30 a.m. (October 11), we saw the adult Vega Gull at the
Tip of Point Pelee.
It arrived from the north along the east shore, landed briefly in the water at
the Tip, then flew over onto the island that is just slightly offshore from
the Tip.

For those people planning on looking for this bird: At 435 PM it flew west 30
meters, landing in the thicket around the base of the hydro tower across the
pond. I'm sure it is still around.

At this time of year, though many birds have already left Presqu’ile Provincial
Park for points south, there are others which can be expected only for a few
weeks in late fall, and some of those have shown up during the past week.
A few waterfowl of interest have appeared, including a lone
Holiday Beach Conservation Area

Black Vulture
While out surveying a property in Concord today, a colleague of mine and I
flushed a Barred Owl. When we first saw it, we only caught a glimpse of it
flying away. Not expecting a Barred Owl at all, I had assumed that it must of
been a Great Horned Owl. Shortly after our first encounter, we
