This morning while strolling through the Fletcher Wildlife Garden in Ottawa, I
flushed an American Woodcock. The bird was foraging on limited bare ground
beneath the large mature pine/spruce stand just north of the large feeder. The
bird was subsequently flushed several times by other passers-
I saw one Tree Swallow feeding on something(moving back and forth) about
150 feet up. There were two other birds spotted with it, just before I saw
it, by another birder, Vince Agnesi. I believe all Tree Swallows.

Driving back from Ottawa this morning around 11 am I spotted a male Northern
Harrier and a Killdeer flying south of the road at the same time.
approximately half way between Stittsville and Carleton Place.

The number of ducks and geese are rapidly increasing on the Mississippi River

The 350 Snow Geese which were present in Prince Edward County yesterday were
not evident today.
DIRECTIONS: From Picton, take Union Road/County Road 8 to Kaiser Crossroad,
then walk down the track opposite Kaiser Crossroad to Lake Ontario. The Snow

At 5:51 pm today I saw a flock of 8 Sandhill Cranes flying at an
estimated height of 500 feet over the abandoned black water tower
heading ene parallel to the shoreline. They were not calling but

I just received notification that a Great Egret with a green wing tag,
#24E, was observed today in State College, Pennsylvania, in a retention
pond on the campus of Penn State University. This is the first report
