Hi Ontbirders,
This morning at 0611 AM, while checking for roosting egrets from
Hamilton's High Level Bridge, I observed 2 Great Egrets roosting on
Hickory Island, the small island on the north side of Cootes Paradise
and about a half km to the west of the bridge. At 0615, 16 minutes

Black Vul
Large flock (75+) near Hillman Marsh on Mersea Rd 21 between Mersea # 2 and
Fox Run Road. The flock was in the plowed corn stubble across from
the un-numbered house (the only house on that section). Sighting was at
6PM.

Hi everyone:
The male blackbird is still around now. Jon Ruddy and I just re-found him as he
flew in and landed in the treetops by the houses across the green from the
wetland where he had been spotted feeding earlier today and yesterday. He is
not singing right now.

I had a Fish Crow around noon today on the Toronto Islands. The bird was
seen (and heard) being chased by two American Crows around the Gibraltar
Point lighthouse. The group eventually flew off towards Hanlan's Point and

After 28 Years of living here on the Westminster Ponds, we Finally added a
Pileated Woodpecker to our Yard List!!! I have been waiting for this bird to
arrive and it was a great Easter present to see him at noon today!! My wife

This morning Ian Cannell, Jay Peterson and I birded the morning in the Whitby
area stopping at Thickson Woods after 8 am and at the south end (lake side) we
found 3 singing Pine Warblers and on the lake were approx. 200 Red-necked
Grebes.
