Went down Monday (Jan 2) to see the local celebrity. I had a fleeting
glimpse before it went into hiding. I also had a run in with a local while
walking on the road. As soon as I came in site of the 2nd house on the
north side he sent a stream of verbal abu
I had an excellent experience this morning shortly after 10 am on Cape
Croker on the Bruce Peninsula.
I located a Golden Eagle sitting near the road and pulled over to admire it.
The eagle was making soft vocalizations and staring intently across the road
at the hedgerow. It flew about 100 feet
Apparently the Solitaire which was seen briefly on Grandview Rd yesterday was
SOUTH of Columbus Rd, and NORTH of Winchester (local road 3). This location
is approx. 0.8 km south of the old Oshawa Zoo.

Having birder between locks 24 and 26 between 12:00 and one pm , today (
Tuesday), I saw the following:
Immature bald eagle( west side of river just above lock 26)
Kingfisher
100 cedar waxwings
Many robins and starlings
A dozen Goldeneyes
A pair of turkeys in the trees on west side
30 mallards
