Mid-afternoon today, the 19th three Pine Siskin ( 1 male and 2 females)
arrived in our backyard and ensconce themselves on our niger feeder. This
allowed plenty of time for positive identifications.

This morning there was a Northern Mockingbird in our neighbour's front yard.
It stayed long enough for a positive identification before flying off. Our
houses back onto the east side of Donegan Park which is in the southeast
quadrant of Cobourg and can be accessed from D'Arcy Street.

Late Friday afternoon my wife and I simultaneously spotted male
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the separate sections of the garden in which
we were working. The garden backs on to Dunegan Park in Cobourg's southeast
section and can be reached by driving south on D'Arcy Street.

We've had six White-crowned Sparrows appear in our backyard since 5:00 PM
and as a bonus a Yellow-rumped Warbler, the first warbler of the year. The

Cobourg's harbour about mid-morning today (Saturday). The harbour can be

Sewage Lagoon this past few days. Probably hiding from the hunters in

Since my first posting about the Common Redpolls in our backyard, it's be
pretty quiet. All that changed this morning. From 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
there was a a flock of 20 Common and Hoary Redpolls continually at the niger

the pond southwest of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. The pond
can be reached by Solina Rd. which runs south from the south service road of
the 401. Solina Rd. is between Interchanges 425 and 431. Park in the
Two Killdeers and a Spotted Sandpiper were observed this morning on the
shore at the bottom of D'Arcy St. in Cobourg. D'Arcy St. is the first major
