I know this is not specifically a sighting per se but it is exciting
news. One of the SNOWs fitted with a tracker last year has returned to
the south.

Seen west of McCain Road on north side of Road 2. Unfortunately some
inconsiderate photographers are getting too close.
Take Main Street west from Kingsville to McCain Road and turn north to Road 2.
Turn west on Road 2 for about 300 to 400 m. Owl was in trees along a field on
north
in the apple tree behind the pole with the M48 bird box on
it. Great views.
Also seen, Belted Kingfisher and numerous Bobolinks.
For those coming from the north take Highway 89 west of Shelburne and
turn south on 21/22 Sideroad and go to the stop sign in Monticello
and turn right (west).

Although nest B sustained damage, it is possible that all the chicks
may have survived. At 7pm 2 new hatchlings were seen sunning themselves.

Beach Drive. You will see the fenced off area of the beach at the
northeast edge of the parking lot with the Guardians sitting at the end
of the boardwalk. The two nest exclosures are easy to see.

A correction to my reporting yesterday from East West Humber Bay
Parks. I saw a Canvasback Duck not a Redhead Duck as I noted yesterday.
Also the pair of grebes was out with the long-tailed ducks and Harlequin Ducks

We did not see the Ruddy Ducks but a woman we met said she had seen them.

it may be that the bird flies upriver a bit
and then drifts back towards the lake. This would account for the
sightings reported upstream of Fort Mississauga
