Ontbirders,
My daughters and I had the Varied Thrush at its regular location under the
feeders at the main building of Bark Lake. We arrived at 3:30pm and the bird
was on the ground under the feeder. It then flew up to the back and right of
the building and sat for a while and then took off (po
Ontbirders,
In case anyone is wondering, the long-staying Western Kingbird continues at the
extreme west end of the Desjardins Canal in Dundas. Best seen from the Urquhart
Butterfly Gardens. The bird likes to stay right down low by the water and flew
a couple of times while my daughter and I wa
Birders,
Just a follow-up on this mega-rarity.
A few of us watched the Black-throated Sparrow right up till sunset. It seemed
to stay along the fence line behind (east of) the covered picnic area for the
time I was there (6:15 to sunset around 7), at around 6:50 or so it flew to the

Hi Ontbirders,
I was scanning the lake and watched this smaller loon fly in from way out on
the lake. It turned and landed about 300m straight out (near white buoy), with
a bunch of Commons for close comparison. Light grey nape and rear crown, mostly
white throat with some dark feathers in the
Hello Ontbirders,
Today, Julian Diener notified me of a small flock of Evening Grosbeaks he found
at 11:30am feeding in a local park he frequents in King City (in the GTA north
of Toronto). After work I half-heartedly went and tried for them but assumed
they’d be long gone. As soon as I arrived

Beautiful adult bird with shining silver-grey crown and hindneck, black throat,
black back/wings and white speckling on wings. Bill held horizontal (not above
as in Red-throated). Seen straight out (directly north) from

Hello Ontbirders,
I arrived at the pathway on Gowling Terrace at 7:30am today and didn't
immediately see any birds at the seed. I waited for about 15 minutes before
moving to the fenceline at Kearns and the pond, watching the other pile of seed
in the NW corner of the park area (completely fenc
