A black vulture was seen and photographed on phone and ipad at 3:45 p.m. in
company of 5 TUVU. It was feeding on a dead raccoon and perched on a fence post
for several minutes before heading s/w towards Upper Canada Village. It was on
Anderson Road approx. 1/2 k.m. west of Aultsville Road seen
Still at 4000 Milton road at 4:30 p.m. on Monday Sept.22 on top of posts west
side of horse enclosure.Last seen on board fence south of the pile of wrapped
bales just south of farm buildings.Directions as per many postings.

Dundas County has at least 1 pair of gray partridge with 11 chicks as I watched
them cross a back road in the Dundela area. Chicks managed to fly 30-40 ft. and
then were lost in a nearby field. Contact privately for details as to
whereabouts.

Hi Birders,
There were 5 tundra swans n/east of McDonnell Island in the Long Sault Parkway.
A small group of Bohemian Waxwings on Woodland Island and directly north of
Woodlands beach there were 17 greater snow geese sitting on a piece of ice near
the north shore at 4:30 p.m.

We had a major stream of snow geese from 7:20 to 7;27 of skein after skein
heading east here in Ingleside .Guesstimate 6-7000 in total. The early sun on
the black and white geese was surreal.

We had a brown creeper that showed up in the back yard less than 5 min. after a
visit by a Cooper`s hawk at our feeders .The hawk made at least 3 visits in the
yard before noon.

A large flock of snow geese passed over the interpretive centre at Upper Canada
Sanctuary to-day at 1:15pm.Approx. 250-300 birds heading east .

The hawk-owl was still present on Ridge road just west of the 2 log homes on
the north side west of the Vankleekhill sales barn as of 4:30 Dec.16.It was
actively hunting from the tall tree tops on both sides of the road.

Ridge Road is the 1st road north of Hiway 417 and Hiway
continue through the park entrance gate,pass Moulinette campsite and the
next island is MacDonell.Go to the west end of same you will see a kiosk on the
south side the bird was on the north side easyily visible from the causeway
joining to the next westward island.

Upper Canada Bird Sanctuary had an American Bittern today .It was heard
calling near the sewage dumping station and observed in flight going over the
old railway bed
The east gate of Long Sault Parkway still had well over 1000 Greater Snow Geese
today @ 4:30 pm.Rhere were several blue phase geese as well.
