were there from about 10 to 10:45. Another birder from Mississauga was
also there and reported seeing the Pink-footed Goose near Moose Creek
earlier in the morning.

*From HWY 417 take HWY 138 south (exit 58), turning right on

Gillian Horgan and I just spent an hour along the river downstream from
the bridge in Williamstown, and we did not find an Ibis. We spoke to
someone who lives there and who canoes regularly down the river. He
said he would contact us if he saw the bird.

our first Common Grackle and first two Red-winged Blackbirds of the
year. The owner of the house also reported a couple of Robins this
morning. We were told that both of the rarities have been coming to the
feeders since around Christmas.

Seeing the Black-tailed Gull is feasible at least from eastern Ontario. I
left my house 16 kms. from the Quebec border at 11:30 a.m. and was home at
8:00 p.m. See below for

calling from across the road to the west.

There have been lots of Snow Geese in South Glengarry township over the
last few weeks. Monday morning a flock of over a thousand were in the
tilled fields to the west of Highway 34 about two kms. north of the village
of Lancaster (just north of Munro's Agromart).

percentage were "blues." I saw these birds on Cedar Grove Road which runs

morning, but no sign of yesterday's Red-winged Blackbirds.

of Lancaster - a few days earlier than in most years.
