It took several hours but the Violet-green Swallow finally came and perched for
photos on the telephone line beside the pond at 12:40. Earlier several of us
had a brief glimpse but patience was rewarded.

After sitting quietly in a roadside Black Walnut for at least two hours, the
gyr flew across to the south side of the road landing about 100 metres out in a
corn field, opposite house #6380. It then proceeded to feed on a dead immature
Herring Gull. This was at 4:20 pm.

We counted at least 18 White Pelicans using the sand bar off the tip of Fish
Point this morning. There are also hundreds of cormorants and gulls present. A
scope is needed for satisfactory views.

We found a Varied Thrush at the North end of Two Creeks Conservation Area at
4:30 pm today. It was found along the McIntosh Trail by a line of large White
Pines.
