Bird was still here at 5ish on the driveway of 1462, but the owner drove in
and flushed it farther up the driveway out of view.

The king eider was still in the same location this afternoon at 4 pm,
hanging around with 3 mallards near the gazebo. As Barry Cherriere
said, start looking as soon as you see water.

As of 9:00 this morning, the bluebird has not reappeared. I spoke to
another birder who has been here since dawn, and he hasn't seen it
either.

Peter

Hi all,
Just an update on the "snow goose". It seems like that it's a barnyard goose
of some type. The bird's a little too large and the beak and legs are too
pink. In addition, there's no evidence of black primary feathers.
Sorry for the ruffled feathers ;-).

As before . . .
Hi all,
This morning there was an immature snow goose at Lasalle Park hanging around
with the Canada geese immediately west of the parking area.
Other notables:
raft of male common mergansers at the tip of the shoals east of the marina
(need scope to view well)
hooded merganser - 1 pair near boat
I took my kids to the hydro pond today and we saw the following that some of
you might find of note, especially for your winter list.
2 Great Blue Herons
1 Kingfisher - at the parking lot
several Red-breasted Mergansers
a flock of Common Redpolls on the alders near the end of the path
several pair
Hi all,
My colleague, Herman VanBarneveld, saw a Northern Bobwhite Quail on his
property this morning. He took a picture showing the white head. The quail
was calling back and forth with another one. The location is 885 Aikens
Road.

Hi all,
This morning, in the same woodlot where the least bittern was located
yesterday, my colleague, Herman VanBarneveld, viewed a fox sparrow, 2 hermit
thrushes, and a palm warbler. Yesterday there was also a female
yellow-bellied sapsucker. The least bittern is no longer present.
