Hello everyone:
Dave Moffatt and I revisited the townsend lagoons yesterday. The cattle
egrets were not present. However, we got spectacular views of an American
avocet in flight as it was being hunted by a northern harrier.
We also saw the white rumpled sandpiper, about six Dunlin, greater and
Hello Everyone:
Yesterday at 0755 hrs I was at the 403/401 junction SE of Woodstock and saw
what must have been at least 200 crows North of the highway. The sky
contained this immense black cloud. I've never so many in one place.
I post partly because they have their CBC tomorrow.

Hello Everyone:
I spotted one of our Red Breasted Nuthatch's today at our feeder.
I believe he is one of the uncommon resident breeders in the HSA. (Bob
Curry's book)
We usually get a pair during the CBC. Of interest, there are very few
conifers nearby.

Hello:
My experience was that seeing this shrike is not so easy. It is a small
bird a long ways off when it is perched. Much farther than 200 metres when
we saw him at twilight yesterday.
If you stand at the culverts just south of Green Mountain (not the ones
closer to Mud St.) and face East you
collator would know.

I meant this as a joke at first; but perhaps the idea has merit. I wonder
