Hi all.
Fine midsummer birding this a.m. at Tiny Marsh. Nothing unexpected, but
there were many Black Terns, a few still at nests quite close to the
walkway. Good numbers of Pied-billed Grebes, a pair of Common Loons with
chick, a Moorhen with two young, a cygnet with the Trumpeter pair, a few
Hello folks.
This morning I had a very brief backyard visit from a male yellow warbler
with a distinct rusty tinge to its crown. This cap was not sharply defined
at the margins, but the coloration was very clear, and it was a feature I
haven't been aware of before. Have I just been missing some
Hi all.
The Redpolls that have attended my nyjer feeders at Bathurst and Eglinton
every day since 8 December dwindled down to just two individuals yesterday.
To brighten things, however, beside the plentiful Goldfinches, there was a
Brown Creeper in the yard yesterday morning, and this morning pr
Greetings Ontbirders,
Early this afternoon (Feb. 3) we had a Snowy Owl loafing on a fence post and
hunting a field near the intersection of the 401 and Colonel Talbot Drive,
just west of London.
>From the 401 take Colonel Talbot Drive south. Take the first left onto

Greetings,
This morning, Jan. 8th at 9:45 a.m. I was quite suprised to find an adult
Red-shouldered Hawk in Chatham. The bird was on Bloomfield Road a few
hundred meters south of Hwy 401. It was being harassed by a mumber of crows
in a small wood lot on the east side of the road just south of th
Greetings,
Early on the afternoon of Sept 23rd we (myself, Bob Pettit, Fred Urie et al)
had a male Anhinga over the marsh west of the Holiday Beach Migration
Observatory tower. The bird came in from the shore of Lake Erie and
proceeded north low over the marsh and headed up Big Creek towards the
Greetings Ontbirders,
As I have not seen a report from Point Pelee for April 29th I thought I
would let everyone heading in that direction know that we had the first

In addition to birds listed by others we had three Northern Rough-winged

onto North Dike from the park).
North Dike Road is the first road to the
Greetings Ontbirders,
We had two Purple Martins over the Vistor's Centre at noon today. No othor
new arrivals to report. The west beach afforded great views of Surf Scoter
and huge rafts of Scaup etc. With the east winds of the past few days the
rafts are close to the west shore and should rema
Greetings Ontbirders,
On a very abreviated trip to the park today the only new birds I had were 4
Field Sparrows at the Sparrow Fields accessed from Deslaurier. Had a report
of a Grasshopper Sparrow and a Mockingbird at the tip.

Greetings Ontbirders,
A fairly quiet day at Pelee today. A female Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and 3
Barn Swallows at the point were the only new birds seen. Eared Grebes were
of the west side of the point.

Ontbirders,
April 6: We took another short trip to Pelee late this afternoon to try for
the Waterthrush. No luck with it this time but we did have a Yellow-rumped
the same location. Our first warbler of the season. Also had an Eastern
Towhee at the same spot. Between post 15 and 16 on the Wood
Hello Ontbirders
Today, April 6, was slower than anticipated at Pelee given the weather.
Highlights were my first Hermit Thrush of the year and another look at the
Louisiana Waterthrush reported yesterday. Both birds were between post 15
and 16 on the Woodlands Trail (south of the centre). The W
Greetings Ontbirders,
The push of warmer air into southern Ontario has Point Pelee getting busier.
Todays highlights were: more than a dozen Eastern Phoebes through out the
park and beyond, half a dozen Tree Swallows along the north dike road, a
male Eastern Bluebird at Delaurier, and at the tip 2
