Hi Ontbirders:
My wife, Judy, and I watched 10 Sandhill Cranes for about 20 minutes from Smith
Road on the west side of the Mer Bleue east of Ottawa. They were feeding at the
back of a farmer's field just before the woods started.
There were also thousands of Canada Geese along Milton Road, but
At about 8:30 this morning (Apr 6) Ruth Lambert and I found 5 Sandhill
Cranes in the field that is the SW corner of Milton Road and Smith Road
east of Ottawa. There were large gatherings of Canada Geese and a few Wild
Turkey in the surrounding fields.

Yesterday at 3:30 pm, there were 28 Sandhill Cranes in a cleared cornfield
South West of the intersection of Milton and Smith Roads. The field is across
the street from 612 Smith.

At 9:30 am there was a flock of 56 Sandhill Cranes feeding west of Trim Road
just south of Navan. The birds were north of 4052 Trim road.
Also, along Milton Road, there were Snow and Ross Geese along with the Canada's
as well as three Sandhill Cranes near the dog kennel as reported yesterday.

Sunday April 1 at 10 a.m. I saw two sandhill cranes on the east side of
Milton Road, north of Perreault. They were feeding with a large flock of
Canada geese in a plowed farm field.
