At 7:00 PM today Barb Charlton, Hugh Currie, Gerry Shemilt and I heard a Yellow
Rail ticking in the previously reported location, 400 meters north of the
intersection of Wylie and McNamee Roads in the Carden Alvar.
Earlier in the day, Barb and I saw the previously reported Hudsonian Godwit
nor
Heard a Yellow Rail ticking today, May 17, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. just where Judy
Kennedy heard one on Monday-- on the Bluebird Ranch on the west side of
Wylie Road, 0.4 kms north of the intersection with McNamee. It seemed to be
about 25 metres off the road.
Didn't have time to go up to Sedge Wren
The Yellow Rail reported earlier is still being heard at the marsh on Wylie Rd.
Tonight it could be heard from 8:25 until at least 8:50 to the south of the
bridge on the east side.

On Saturday evening 30 April at 8:50 and again at 9:06 p.m., Eleanor
Beagan
and I heard a Yellow Rail at the Sedge Wren Marsh on Wylie Road. It was
ticking about 20 metres west of the bridge. The next 3-4 weeks are the
best time to listen for Yellow Rails as they migrate mainly to the
coastal marsh
The Yellow Rail is still present at the sedge marsh at Carden. There
were no mosquitos tonight

Yellow Rail at the NW corner of the Sedge Wren Marsh on Wylie Rd. American

This morning at 6:50 a.m., Monday May 2, Maureen Smith and I heard a
Yellow Rail at the Sedge Wren Marsh on Wylie Road in the Carden Plain. A
Loggerhead Shrike was south of Bluebird Box #10. Lots of Upland Sandpipers
and Wilson's Snipe. Our trip was cut short by a broken pair of b
