I was struck by two things about this letter.
It was written by a proclaimed "Editor in Chief" and used the most
atrocious grammar and spelling I have seen in a while. I almost wonder if
they didn't get hacked. I know 7th graders that write better. A lot

The argument is so out of touch w

This has nothing to
In mho..
People are simply way too sensitive. I like to think of the internet as the Wild West
in a way. People say whatever they want, and it's up to us to realize that we have
every right to disagree, but *no* right to censor the views of others.
In fact, I actually enjoy this freewheeling

How's "Nix" (or "*nix") more inclusive than "Un*x"?
None of these includes Linux, HP UX, AIX, IRIX, *BSD, Solaris etc. ?

The difference is that "M$" contains a judgement. "Un*x" or it's
variants are neutral. It's intende

Cygwin is a more accurate depiction anyway so that is what the webpage now says.
I don't know what the big deal is. I'd just leave it, who cares, not worth the
time/thought/effort. If people are going to get all freaked out over something like
this, let 'em.

true, I should just say Cygwin.
I always thought referring to the company
I've followed Eugenia's writing for some time. *She* was often
considered a zealot when her husband was working for Be... but I would
also consider her a "fighter of the good fight". So I am curious; what
would be the "proper" way to deal with the Microsoft "issue"?
I've reffered to them as Mi
People have been referring to Microsoft as M$ for years, get over it, no one here
cares.
