Just completed another install of LFS and BLFS and decided this time to install
the wicd client for KDE.
Good interface and looks, but I've a problem with using encryption and the
scripts button. The encryption drop down menu is unavailable and the scripts
button
produces the error:

I have built Wicd-1.7.2.4 and wlan is working now ok.
A couple of points.
1)
I applied the fix
return s.translate(None, table)
outlined here

for wicd-gtk to work. I don't see this mentioned in the book?
