I have to use the ntp daemon when using linux kernels after version 4.4. I just installed the latest lfs with linux 4.9, and ntp takes FOREVER to synchronize. I tried adding the following lines to ntp.conf: server 0.us.pool.ntp.org server 1.us.pool.ntp.org server 2.us.pool.ntp.org server 3.us.pool
