Hi All,
I received a suggestion to convert the file to Wave format, using Winamp,
since it plays with that software, then use GoldWave to convert it to MP3
which is what I wanted to convert it to in the first place.
Does anyone know how to do this with Winamp 5.35, Jaws 7, GoldWave 5.20 and

Hi Al,
If you aren't sure about something in the startup group, then leave it be.
If you look at the path given, and find that the item in question resides in
the program files folder, then uncheck it.
If you find anything relating to windows audio, leave it checked as this
could affect the audio
Victor,
I believe that Gold Wave uses its own internal format for processing files.
Once recorded, you can probably save the file into any format supported by
Gold Wave.
I haven't actually done this but, you would start Gold Wave recording using

There are about 10-15 programs etc loading at startup. You're sure all I

will they stay there to recheck if I need them?

Hi Bob,
I wouldn't even know how to begin something like that.
Could you give me step-by-step instructions outlining how to do this sort of
thing?
I would also ask, if I'm recording the thing as it is playing, why would I
need to convert it after I've recorded it?
Why not record it as an MP3
Hi Mich,
I have not tried C-dex, but will do so and see what happens.
Thanks for the suggestion.

FWIW, I use a thing called Switch, and whenever it 'tries' to open a file
without some or other 'new' codec etc., it'll automatically connect to the
