I know this has come up a number of times before, but I can't find it on the
tips and tricks page. Since I installed the latest Microsoft .net framework,
I have a logon screen in Windows XP. I'm the only user, so how do I get rid
of it?

Can anybody provide me with an easy way to download the latest version of
Directx? I've tried to do it through the Microsoft site, but it seems I have
to do some kind of ridiculous validation process which doesn't seem to work
properly with jaws and Firefox.

I can't give you precise instructions but you will get to the right area if
you go to Run on the start menu and type
control userpasswords2
and press enter. Somewhere in there is a checkbox which has to be either
checked or unchecked.

interested, there's a checkbox on that screen which you uncheck if you don't
want to have to log in. Then you have to choose the user you want to
automatically log in as and it's done.

Is there a setting in Nero that determines how long it takes to verify a
compilation? I can burn a given cd and it will be verified in a short period
of time; then again, I can burn another cd and Nero will take 20 or 30 minutes
to verify the compilation. Thanks for any help.

It all depends on what type and more importantly how much info is on the CD.
For instance if the CD only has about 100 MB of data it will be much
quicker to verify than if it has say 600 or so MB
