I am using windows XP and jaws 9.0 and I need some suggestions. My computer
has slowed down drastically suddenly for some reason. I have defragged, run
scan disk and all of the settings that I can think of but nothing has
helped. I called my internet service provider anda tech went through
Hi! This might be a long shot, but I had a similar problem with my new
computer about a year ago. If you have a creative sound card, you might
check for a program called dllml. It slows everything down a lot, and from
what I understand, Creative has done away with it now. Anyway, as soon as I

Oops! I didn't see your message in time, David. However, I'd like to point
out that the phone I mentioned in my response can be used in conjunction
with a computer. Perhaps that might provide the link to topic you are
trying to protect.

Hello everyone,
I'm interested in learning about RSS feeds, and how they work. I went to
popular applications in jaws, and I went to Internet Explorer7. There was some
information about RSS feeds, and how to set them up. I was gonna set one up,
but the web site that I was on said this feed
Hi lisa,
by default, I believe IE checks for updates every 24 hours, someone please
correct me if i'm wrong. as far as slowing the machine down goes, that'll
only happen if you allow attached files, for example, MP3 files to be
automatically downloaded, otherwise, all that happens is an HTmL
Have you been into misconfig and unchecked things you don't need running at
start up?

Hi
I use the latest version of I. E. and it has RSS built in to it. It has
a place to adjust the frequency for each RSS feed. I set two of mine to up
date every 15 minutes.
God bless,

Hi all. I downloaded Mp3 Clip from the programs page. I'm having trouble
figuring out how to tell it how to split the files because I can't find
where to put in the time for how long I want each split file to be. In
fact, it doesn't seem very accessible at all to me so far. Any thoughts?
Is
I normally use booksplit since it's a lot simpler interface, and you just
basically use radio buttons to choose standard times ranging from 1 minute
up to something like 20 minutes.

Hi again. I've been having trouble with BookSplit which I also downloaded
from the programs page. No matter which time selection I toggle to, when I
click on autosplit it will only split a file into five minute chunks. I
can't get it to split into 20 minutes, or 30 minutes, etc. Does that make
Hi, I hope I can explain this situation correctly.
My husband has Windows XP Professional with Jaws 7. Sometimes he receives
e-mail with punctuation where Jaws reads things like underline, greater-than
etc. He went into the global setting in Voices and attempted to change his
punctuation level
What version of booksplit do you have?
The one I've got here is literally called:
BooksplitV2.exe
(without the quotes)
When I just tested it with a 40 minute file splitting into 5 minute parts,
it worked fine.
Basically, I tabbed to the select file button, selected the gile there,
tabbed to
Hi Freddie. I downloaded BooksplitV2.exe from the JAWS users programs page.
Have you also tried to split the files into bigger files such as 10 or 20
minutes to see if it works? The thing is I have no problem splitting a
large file into five minute files. But that's all it will do for me. I
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it. I wonder if it's a free
program. All I want is an easy to use program that will split Mp3's into 20
or 30 minute files for my Zen Stone. It seems that for both you and me,
BookSplit won't do that.

I would assume that if you open the configuration manager (Jaws key + number
row 6) while in outlook express, then go to the set options menu (Alt + S),
then move down to synthesizer options, and open that dialogue, if you tab to
the punctuation level combo box, change it to whatever, tab to
It's not all that simple to use, and the main thing to remember is that Ctrl
+ F6 will move screen section to screen section whereafter you tab around
those controls to change things.
Might be simplest to import around 4 5 minute sections one after the other
(hopefully sequentially), and then
Thank you for your response. I'll pass it along to my husband and hopefully,
it will work.
