What do you know about a product called a filter mag? and what is your
oppinion? For those that don't know, a filter mag is simply a high powered
magnet that you put on the end of your oil filter and it is supposed to trap
metal particls that circulate in your oil.

Hi,
Fully accessible with a large knob and several small buttons on the
front pannel. All buttons are raised and have a very positave click
when pressed. Nice machine.

this machine isn't all it could be. Not all of the functions of the
selecter dial talk and the clicks are a little mushy. Plus, it is
tedious to count clicks. It is doable, and somewhat manageable but I

For about $7.00 you can purchase a magnetic drain plug that will accomplish
the same thing and you don't need to worry about it impeding oil flow.

for the most part you are right however for many years the German car
manufacturers used to include what they called an Alniko magnet in both the
engine and transmission sumps and they seemed to work fairly well. This was
especially true before the days of the submycron filtration systems.

If you tried to magnetize the oil dip stick. would you simply be wasting
your time.
