Most new home owners will need a quick and attractive way to cover their
windows for privacy.
One of the least expensive methods is using a do it yourself window blind.

During the summer season it's nice to keep a few doors or windows open to
provide cross ventilation. However there are times when the breeze gets a

shoes or cans of juice to keep your door open you can install a ret
It gets a lot colder in the bedroom with the window open, last night it was

bedroom actually gets but it is well below 60F. You snuggle down into the

Oh I don't know, the only reason I remember that temperature is that I well
remember researching alternatives and the heat pump has a lot to recommend it

We have natural gas heat here but that isn't much use if the power goes off. I
Well the good wife thought up another job, water blasting the driveway then
resealing the exposed aggregate.
The driveway is 48 feet long by 24 feet wide, so while it was so hot today
we finished water blasting and tomorrow we are off to buy enough sealer to
spray a coat on while it is clean.

I can attest to the Kilz. We had a massive fire in my shop which,
unfortunately, was under the new addition to the house. Also unfortunately
the door leading down to the shop/laundry room was left open so the smoke
went throughout the entire house. We sure did use a lot of Kilz. (LOL)

Hi Scott,
While heat pumps are very efficient heating and cooling devices their
efficiency decreases as the temperature decreases down to about minus 10C I
believe which is about 14F. You are getting pretty close to those limits. This
means the unit will cycle more frequently but the fact that
We set our thermostat and leave it alone since we don't have one of the
programmable types. It stays at roughly 65 all the time unless the sun would
make it warmer. With an older person in the house that doesn't sound like it
would work but it is a good temp to sleep with.

My fan in the freezer is accessed from the inside. The screws go
through a vent cover so they are really hard to feel. Good luck.

This brings up a good point and a question. I decided to set the
thermostat to 65 during the day and 64 while we sleep. Now I am sure
this house could use a bit mroe insulation, but when I had it resided,
they put in 3/4 inch foam insulation prior to putting the new siding
on. My house over
In the refrigerators I have taken apart, access was through the food
compartment. Take everything out and look for the screws that hold the
panel in place. Going in through the back would mean removing the
insulation, usually not a good idea.

According to anything I have seen, a minimum temperature of 16C which is 60.8F
(call it 61) is the most efficient energy saving setting. I have a couple of
those indoor outdoor talking thermometers with the 24 hour high & low memory
and my house does get down to that or a little cooler depending
Does this apply in the liquid form also!!!

Hi all! What do you all think of a good minimum temperature to set on your
thermostat at night for the maximum amount of savings in a fuel bill? Of
course, there are many variables, so I'll make some guide lines, particularly
our situation here.
I am in North Dakota, so the minimum temperatures

Hey thanks, I'll give that a shot, it sure won't hurt to check that out.

Bob, thanks, that is an idea I hadn't considered. The reason I think
it's the fan is the noise level has gone up a fair bit from what it
used to be. Makes me think a baring is failing in the fan motor. I
can't imagine why else it would have gotten so noisy and the sound
seems to be coming f
The fan is probably making excessive noise because the locking screw that
holds it in place on the bearing has loosened. Yes, you need to remove the
back panel; then carefully (so as not to bend it) grasp the fan and
determine if it is wobbling or sliding on the bearing shaft. If this is the

Hello Scott. If your unit is on a pad there is a solution. Take pipes and

Folks, got another question. I've decided that because of the location
