I have a 2001 blazer, and to read the engine codes you need a scan tool now grrr
or pay the mechanic $30 to stick in a plug flip a switch and read me the darn
code.
is there a program I can get that will read the codes for me using jaws and a
laptop?

Tom,
I have about three different programs that I use.
1. "Desktop Dyno," Allows you to build a virtual motor
without hitting the Amex card.
2. "MSD dynamic timing management," allows real time
monitoring of both valve and spark timing relative to engine
temperature, load and RPM.

If those are maple trees then you are talking a lot of mulch and bag
soil but do not as you noted close to the trunk or base of the tree.

Tom,
With the advent of Onboard diagnostics (OBD) the whole scope
thing is pretty much prehistoric at this point.
I use my laptop to set up Carol's Corvette and the late El
Camino. All of the information that was once displayed on a
oscilloscope CRT is now digitally available to anybody with

Folks,
Got a question concerning mulching around a tree. I want to fill some
dirt over some exposed roots cause the grade of the yard has caused
some dirt to move away and the roots present a trip hazard. So, I
wanted to put the dirt down and then cover with a little mulch which

Hey Lary,
I don't remember an optacon with a vibration thingie on the chest,
but such a thing was done here at Smith-Kettlewell using a TV. camera
and an array of vibrating pins. Had you really been desperate
enough it's possible you could have used it on scope, but they were
hideously expensive
Hey Bro...
Is that like an Opticon flash-back?
I remember back in the mid 70s some dink from Telesensery
spent about a half a day trying to convince me that the
opticon with a chest mounted vibration thingy would provide
me with access to the oscilloscope we used for engine
analysis.

Larry,
Yep, that or the ball in a cage gozmo that RNIB made while back.
Only deal is ya gotta have a hand on the thing whilst trying to jiggle
the shelf or fence or whatever.
I was thinking about a vibration you might feel in your
pocket but that's take wires which would be a pain.

There was a post on here some months back discussing a
pendulum style level, seems like that would be the hot setup
for a blind/deaf guy.

Hi lenny
Unfortunately, most of the beepers used in modern gizmos are "piezo electric'
units which require very low power.
Thus there would probably not be enough power available to run a buzzer, which
requires a pretty healthy chunk. the only buzzers I know
that don't take much power are high fre
