at the mention of door knob I now know what you are alking about. I inherited from a $5.00 box at an auction many odds and ends. this is a thing which goes in the end of I think a 3/8th drill. it feels like there could be several different sizes of a blade inserted in diffrent size circles.

A door handle that locks is the same as one that doesn't. Basically the locking set will have 3 working parts along with a couple strike plates and some keys and screws. Remove the old handle by backing out the 2 Philips screws on the room side. Once the screws are out pull the knob to you

Bob, those two pins that hold the bit are now a snap action instead of screw in. By reversing the drill they go in almost the entire depth of the bit and push the core out. Start drilling again and it backs back out. A quick snap back allows the bit to be unscrewed, and a slight push forward

Hmmm? Your comment about the part which helps to remove the bit from the wood intrigues me, but I doubt it would work in my toy making, as it involves a lot of repetitive cutting out of plugs with the drill press, not a drill driver which has a reverse. My press does not have a reverse so far

Lee, the one that you have sounds like a large base that has a series of rings in it to hold the different size band core bits. The base is designed to hold all bits a the same time for storage. Those are sold only as such. Those are held in place by a screw in the side. Hole saw
