Hi all,
In my powder room I had a toilet that seemed pretty loose from the floor--but
didn't leak or nothin'. It would just slide around and rock a bit. I went in
there with an adjustable wrench and tightened it up some. There are two bolts
that seem to come up through the floor; one on each

Howard, I would guess that you have some settling in the floor. Is this a wood
floor? If so, it may be that some of the plywood flooring is deteriorating.
You could shim the stool, but it might be a better idea to determine the actual
issue and make the proper repair. I would examine the
It looks like I may have to lift the bowl off the drain connection to find out
what's happening. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. I have a nack for
making things worse.

Hello,
I just helped to put a new floor in my master bathroom.
I was having a problem very similar to yours.
I would not shim your toilet. If it is not sitting flush / flat on the floor
it could crack. If it cracks you will need to get a new stool.

Wow you must buy the really good wax. I give about $5 at Lowes.

bolts) to the top of the drain pipe via a collar that has keyhole style
Well, sometimes I feel that way too. I think what it really comes down to,
however, is that sometimes there are problems that are hidden and finding them

Frank,
What you are looking for are called cassette tape albums. I order them all the
time from a place
called Hosanna which is in New Mexico. You can get them in different sizes.
The one's you are
wanting are called 6 by 6. That means they will hold 6 on each side.
Hosanna's toll free
Frank,
I've got one of those setting around. I'd be glad to send it to you.
You can email me at vo...@iowatelecom if you want it, and send me your
address information.
Blessings,
Tom
