What was the manufacture, because i had a Motorola modem and the
install for it was crazy.
You first had to put the modem in and then do the driver. Now pull
the modem out and redo the driver. Then put it back in and most of
the time it saw the modem. The disk that came with it was all in

I know that the modem works I
first determine if it is a hardware or software modem. hardware
modems have jumpers which can be set to specific interupts and
com port settings. software modems are set by system cmos and
windows.
you will need a sighted reader or an opticon and go to the pnp
section of the system cmos. see if
contact some repair shops.

If you've got a used computer store in your neck of the woods, you can pick
up dial-up modems at a dime a dozen.
Well, that's how much they cost up here in Canada. Smile.
Modems are relatively cheap, so I can't believe you can't pick one up for
under 10 bucks.
