the DM-5, the recorders are actually called the DM-2 and the DM-4, for the 4
gig and 8 gig models respectively.

Looks like the DM4 can use voice recog to set up calendar and to-do lists.
Maybe you could hijack that functionality for a contact list.

the edirol hr09 is a super high quality recorder by roland.
very high resolution but not too blind friendly.
nothing speaks, but i use it for live music recordings
does 16 and 24 bit recording on to an sd card.
about $350

I didn't look at the specs for the DM420 and DM520, but assume the
announcement I just read, talking about the new DM4 and DM5 is probably
the same. Not only does the DM4 and 5 have audible menus, but they do
text to speech, voice commands, and can read DAISY texts. Seems like the
