Years ago I used steel strapping around my chimney to hold a heavy dipole with
large traps. Worked fine. Even went though several high wind events. One
removed a large portion of the roof.

All hams should read carefully and take action.
It is imperative that ARRL be transparent and responsive to its members.
It is my opinion that the proposed changes will take ARRL in the opposite
direction.
Simply saying “I won’t join or renew” isn’t an option. Like
Alcohol produces more power than gasoline in classes limited by engine size.
It is tough on aluminum but one can take precautions.

Jo. The TEXAS has the appropriate staff to deal with the equipment and see that
if that equipment is suitable for the ship.
They will be able to determine what ship type the units belong.
The idea is to equip the Texas Navy as TEXAS is the flagship.

Carefully check the sack yield.
Normal weight concrete is roughly 145 lbs/cu ft.
Use greater than 3000 psi strength concrete.
Do not add excess water. Rod the stiff mix into place.
Note the 2 x 2 x 2 should be measured at least 6 inches below grade and so all
surfaces are against firm to stiff
Amazing.
I must have wasted years in getting degrees in geology, civil engineering and
environmental science with specialties in ground water hydrology.

I agree with K5HM. Now is not the time to abandon ARRL which is restricted in
what they can do before losing their 501c3 status. ARRL provides a great
resource. But they are not into the heavy politics required.

Michael and all,
I hope HR 4969 passes but my experience Wednesday at Pete Olson's staff
outreach leaves me doubtful.
One of Pete Olson's staff was to be at the Fulshear City Hall for two hours.
There had been a general announcement and an email sent to all the hams I know
in the area.
