Thanks to everyone for the many monitor suggestions. I have many of my amateur
apps on this Windows computer. I feel one of the many power glitches spiked my
monitor. I see several blown capacitors in the monitor power supply. It is
worth a few bucks to try replacing them, but I’ll pick up a spa
Saw their post of cheap monitors. Those are VGA, not HDMI. I threw out two
of those, which have the old "square" screen.

I have a couple of square (not wide screen) flat screen Dell monitors that
I was going to use on a Linux machine back before Ubuntu supported wide
screen. Would these be useful?

If you can hold off buying a new monitor for a couple of months, the "Black
Friday" sales will soon be coming up. Two years ago, I was able to pick up
2 Dell 32 in monitors for $120 each; brand new, full warranty. You just
need to be patient and look around for them.
