So I'm not alone. Yea! Do you have a good mode for javascript? php-
mode is great, every thing works fine. For years, I've been using c-
mode to edit javascript, and it doesn't handle json very well, or
lambda functions. Do you have an alternative?

Another vote for Komodo IDE/Edit
- Fast (I've tried a lot and it's definitely up there)
- Cross platform
- Doesn't use java (nothing against java, just most apps seem sluggish
on any system I've used)
- Great addon/macro/snippet system (addons similar to Firefox)

Agreed, Komodo Edit is just perfect in my eyes. It hits the sweet spot
between editor and full blown IDE. I don't need an IDE but I do need
advanced editing capabilities and Komodo Edit hits the nail on the
head. I edit under Linux and the only other real (free) alternative
seems to be Eclipse

Agreed on Coda. Recently switch to a Mac full time and quickly dumped
Eclipse. Eclipse is just as piggish with memory on OS X as it is on
Windows!
The SVN support in Coda could improve, but all in all I like it over
most other programs.

I've tried netBeans 7.0 for php and I love some of the features I am
missing from DW, but I still can't move from DW to NB...
What I love in DW is the great support for ftp and cvs options that
lack in NB... or it is not that good (Specially ftp) + some other
