I watched a GREEN HERON vault from the base of the big leaning willow to catch
a fish at 710am. This was in the same spot the Prothonotary Warbler HAD been
(not there now) a couple days ago, just for reference, that is along the north
edge of the big pond. If flew toward shore with its catch so
All six swallow species, including my first of year CLIFF, at Myers Point
right now, but not much else. Looks like Ken had a Forster's Tern here
earlier, but no sign of it or shorebirds now. Orchard Oriole singing from
Salt Point but moving as far as the marina quite often.

Thanks Dave,
In my haste I posted to Cayuga RBA but not the listserv. I heard the

headed south up the gulf towards Seeley Hill, beyond which lies Fox

At the Mullholland wildflower preserve, not far from the parking lot,
is a beautiful and photogenic cavity where on the morning April 22, I
saw the face of a pileated woodpecker inside the hole. I have not seen
any pileated activity at that hole since (on my 2-3 times a week
passing that spot), so

and photographed a pair copulating several times atop the spruce trees across
from 53 Main Street today. I was never able to see the nest, but it seems
likely it's close by. I hope they are happy in their new
