I'm working on Lab 1 of the 5-lab Self Study Challenge. In Section 4.1, the
lab says to use 7-digit DNIS and 10-digit ANI for calls from Site A & Site B to
the PSTN phone. My lab is configured exactly like the DSG, yet calls are
failing from both site A & B. I logged onto the PSTN router and
Hi, Everyone!
I'm working on Tasks 4.4 - 4.6 of Lab #2 in the Five-Lab Self-Study Challenge.
The instructions say that the PSTN phone "should" ring, but the call will not
get nailed up because of the "Wait for Far end TCS" checkbox being enabled in
CUCM.
My Problem: The call is NEVER ringin

Were the phones registered to CM with DNs assigned BEFORE they failed over to

The internal phone is "known" based on the remote destination configured for
the user. To meet this requirement, the remote destination needs to be
10digits. For SNR calls outbound, strip off the area code, prepend a '9', and
send to the appropriate gateway. Do not use SLRG.

Anybody else having issues opening IPExpert lab PDF files? It seems that the
authentication servers are down.

Greetings,
I'm using my UCCX server for the customized Directory Button task. I've got my

I noticed the same thing. From the main documentation page, just type
"Communications Manager Express" in the "Find" section and it'll come right up.

Kenneth,
Yes, most people are using VMWare for their CM, CUC, CUP and UCCX servers. I
downloaded the OVA templates for 8.6 and used them for my 7.x installs. I get
a message at the CLI prompt that says it's not supported, but it works fine.
Been studying this way for a year. I have 3 router
The Cisco web site says that any version of software that has been available
for 6 months is open game for the CCIE Voice Lab. Just wondering what version
most people use for their lab studies? Some I've talked to are using 8.6 while
others are sticking with 7.1(5).
What do you recommend?

Greetings,
I'm building out my lab and have a quick question for the PSTN router config.
Do the IPExpert labs have a mixture of E1 and T1 ports in some labs? Just
wondering because I'll need to obtain additional VWICs if that is the case.
Thanks!

Does anyone have their lab UCCX on VMWare ESXi 5.0? If yes, what method did
you use to get it installed on a VM? I've heard of folks installing on an MCS
server and using VMWare Converter to migrate over to a virtual machine. Any
thoughts?
Thanks!
