I should add -- I don't think Skaggs should be on the list, just noting that
he plays guitar mighty well. Tony Rice deserves it more than he does --
can't remember though if I saw Rice on the list.
Oh, other country pickers I can remember seeing on the list -- Merle Travis
and Doc Watson.

I've heard Skaggs do some mighty fine bluegrass pickin'. Like Vince Gill
(whom I can't stand as a singer), Skaggs is a master of several instruments.
Marty Stuart would be another one.
They did have Clarance White ranked pretty high.
Many guitarists would think Brent Mason should be included.

Personally, as one who loves Jimi Hendrix, I don't think I'd put him at
the top of my list... he was a superb guitarist, but I think better ones
have materialised since.. Jimi was ground breaking and trend setting of
the era!!
Then there's Joe Satriana and
Randy Rhoads was phenominal. The "who the heck am I?" comment was my reference to the

Yeah - in general.
I started to watch "Cook's Tour" and "Keith Famie's Adventures" and quickly
got turned off - especially some of the ummm "local delicacies" on "Cook's
Tour" - made the recipes on Iron Chef look almost normal .
But I do like "Follow that Food", even though that's "travel-ish" i
Yeah, when ever the flavors of a food get released and combined with another
flavor, the food is happy. Adding spice or vodka (one of Emril's favorite
beverages, I gather), along with assorted other adult beverages, is, in
Emril's words, "Kicking it up a notch."

Was referring to when Emeril grins at the audience and says something like
"now let's make it really happy" and starts pouring in wine or liquor and
the audience cheers

I love the Naked Chef. And Alton Brown's "Good Eats."
I'm not into the travel-and-food type shows ... I like the cooking shows.

I dunno .. calls stuff happy all of the time. When it's in the oven, when
he puts spices on it, when it's soaking in something .. but true, the food
does seem especially happy when it's got a little rum in it ;)

"Happy" to Emeril is usually a generous amount of brandy or equivalent

Keep in mind that this isn't a Graham Kerr or a Julia Child, but a guy from
a Portuguese blue-collar family who kinda walks the walk and talks the talk.
I was surprised by the "chef week"

P.S.
I am pleased to see that they are *beginning* to address character
development (individually and collectively). (Plus the actors are growing
into their roles.)
We forget this is the first season, and it is a "prequel", and we
