It's not that I'm not worth it already here, it that I work for a very small company. i would not be getting that much, I would be getting a raise form my current position. The reasons to stay are home, friends, and family, and a possible business deal with the present employer.

That is a huge difference in salary. I would say that would surmount most
obstacles. How is the culture at Microsoft and where you're at now. How
likely are the business opportunities that your boss mentioned likely to
come to fruition. What kind of schedule will you be working. Once yo
it's not a bad problem to have. I'd ask some questions about long-term prospects at Microsoft.

What M$ business unit is offering you money?
I turned down 2 different jobs from M$ that were headed nowhere, and
looking back I am glad I did so.
One has been outsourced to India, the other was building a product that
never even made beta.
