The first time, I very politely say "no thank you, I'm not interested", then I
immediately close the door. If they persist, then I ask them to leave
immediately, if they persist after that, they're tresspassing, and I let my
100lb Great Pyrenees answer the door.

I've only been stopped once, by Bermuda customs, my bag went through the xray
and I had an mp3 player laying across a snorkel, kinda

This isn't something that people should have to do if you live over 10
miles from your office, the option of telecommuting should be on the table in
every postion where it's possible.

The whole "carbon footprint" thing is more about not dumping more pollution and
crap into the rivers, streams and atmosphere than saving energy, any energy
savings is a by product of it.

IMO, I don't think our consumption has dropped enough to hit the oil barons
where it hurts. Until there's a viable, reasonablly priced alternative to

I'm with ya with a few exceptions:
Energy:
I don't think drilling in ANWAR is the way to go, studies indicate that there's
only about five years of oil in there, it'll take five year to ramp it up. I
think it's a waste of time and resources for very little gain. Off shore
drilling is feasable
