One thing is for sure, people that love their Apple products LOVE them like
a fat kid loves cake.
It speaks volumes that consumers become that dedicated to a product that
they somehow take criticism of it personally.

You can always jailbreak it and put anything you want on it.

upheaval, are the upcoming phones going to be as good as they once thought
they were. You're the one that posted that update :P
You can make your own apple ringtones. you have to know how to get around
the system.
and with
and - you outlook lovers, you can sync to any pop, imap account you want.
Running exchange server? you can sync to that too.
Invested heavily in Google Hosted? perfect! Everything's at your fingertips,
even syncing with the calendar.

The iPhone is a nice toy, and it does many things well. But it also
locks you down and locks you in ,to Apple's revenue generating
dynamics. For instance, you can't set your own ringtone.

I have a tweaked Alltel ROM on mine right now, courtesy of
xda-developers.com. Battery life is better but still sucks compared to
Blackberry.
I have a spare Blackberry World Edition sitting on a desk right now. I'm
tempted to switch phones for a few days and give it a try.

I have that XV6800. Have you upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1? Did
wonders for me with battery life. I still have to charge once a day,
but I get about 50-60 text messages a day and have two email accounts
on there always checking exchange.
That being said, I want a damn Blackberry. A guy
HTC Fuze or Blackberry Bold. Both are 3G. If you can stand not having a
touch screen, Blackberry is an awesome phone. My wife's battery goes at
least a week without a recharge. Meanwhle my poor HTC Titan (Verizon xv6800)
needs a charge everyday.
