I use DW, but not the templates. Do you HAVE to use DW templates for it to work? I have tried them before, and maybe I am being too old-school, but I prefer to hand code and plan my own 'templates', such as headers, footers, etc. I have downloaded the Contribute trial, and it is installing rig

You don't have to use DW templates, and Contribute understands includes in much the same way as DW does so it's still possible to use includes for the site design. We actually mix both, using Templates to just lock down what areas are editable and use includes for bringing in the header, nav, foote

Well since we haven't yet been able to get our organization to adopt a real CMS, we do everything either with Contribute or focused, scratch written CF apps to manage news and such. I don't find the things you describe to be Contribute's strong point. The problem isn't in writing the news article,
