I did a .NET project last year - customization of a DotNetNuke install, so I wasn't writing anything from scratch. I was struck by how how many choices I had in everything from hosting to pre-developed components. I think that .NET would be a good complement to CF skills and it's never a bad idea

Ruby on Rails is next on my list ... I'm tired of losing business to people who just flat-out refuse to switch hosting to one that uses CF or won't shell out the bucks for a copy of CF ... I really should, in that case, learn PHP, but I just can't bring myself to do it for some unknown ridiculous
