Oh, and of course you NEED the Hard disk for backward compatibility
with older Xbox games ;-)

I think I have read that they have built in some sort of
anti-switcheroo technology to the Xbox and the Hard disks where it
tries to read some sort of machine id from the HD.
So, I guess you will have to Mod the Xbox 360 to use another type of
Hard disk. With the plethora of USB ports and all the

Well, $100 gets you the HD, and the wireless xbox controller.
Can you hook up any old USB drive to this thing? Anybody know?

WEll, with these prices a loaded Xbox can run you to about 600US at launch day.
Xbox 360 Standard: $399.99
Gold Xbox Live Subscription: At least $49.99 (Likely more.)
Wireless Networking Adapter: $99.99
Second Wireless Controller: $49.99
Two Play and Charge Kits: $19.99 times two.
Total: $639.94
So am I crazy or is a 100 dollar for a 20 gig hard drive freaking
insane. 100 bucks at Best Buy will get you, AT LEAST, a 160 gig drive.
Sure, this drive is "special" - it probably slips right in. So ok,
assume 20 bucks for "plastic crap" around the drive. It is still _way_
overpriced.

Good stuff!! :)
Looks like we will have to buy the HDTV pack seperately.
Prices are standard, not that much more expensive than what the
current accessories cost.

Well, what size are the memory cards going to be? If a card holds 64MB
or more, then developers could count on at least htat much being
present, or could require it.
If people find themselves buying two Memory cards to play three games
etc. then they will most likely end up purchasing the HD seper

Some games I would not mind if it could play, would be nice to play Forza

I'll be getting an xbox360. It might not be right away though. The
backwards compatability doesn't really bother me. I'd like it, but
I've got an xbox now so I can play current/older games still. I said
the same though about my N64 and never really played it after the new
consoles came out.

So - you going to upgrade? One of the things that bugs me is the lack
of 100% backwards compat. (To be honest, I wouldn't mind if it wasn't
perfectly 100% - like the PS2.)
